Are you an Indian traveler planning a visit to the Gulf countries like the UAE (Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Ras al Khaimah), Oman (Muscat), Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, or Saudi Arabia? If so, there's an important process you need to be aware of - the "Ok To Board" (OKTB) requirement. This procedure is essential for all passengers entering these countries on new visas or entry permits.
Ok To Board is a verification procedure that ensures passengers have the necessary documents in place before traveling to Gulf countries. It's primarily aimed at those with new visas, including tourist visas, visitor visas, new residency permits, employment visas, express visas, and short work visas, especially if this is their first visit with a paper permit that is not stamped in their passport.
The process for obtaining an OKTB approval can vary depending on your destination. Here's a breakdown:
United Arab Emirates (UAE): To secure an OKTB for UAE (Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ras al Khaimah), you'll need copies of your passport, visa, and a return ticket for tourist or visit visas. Exceptions for infants under 2 Year. Whether your passport is ECNR or ECR, all new visas require an OKTB. It's recommended to complete this process at least 24 hours before your flight.
Muscat, Oman: Travel agents and corporates send the necessary documents (visa, passport, and ticket) to Go First GSA office to update the OKTB status.
Kuwait: you need to provide the original visa, a copy of your passport, and a copy of your ticket. You can apply your OKTB up to 12 hours before your scheduled flight. This applies to all visit visa passengers with visas on arrival.
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA): Generally, OKTB is not required for KSA. However, in some medical cases, it's mandatory. The verification process includes documents like passport, visa, and exit re-entry documents. For all medical cases, specific documents like medical forms, with clear details and the doctor's sign and hospital seal, must be submitted.
Exemption for US/Schengen Visa Holders: If you hold a US/Schengen visa and are eligible for an 'On Arrival Visa,' you're exempt from the OKTB requirement. This exemption applies as long as you have a valid passport with a minimum of 6 months validity.
